Nature Exchange is the Best!
It seems as though every time we go to the zoo, most of our time there is spent at the nature exchange. The way it works is that you bring in up to five items from nature each visit to donate to the nature exchange. They in turn give you points for the item itself and any information you can give them. The more unusual the item or the more you can tell them about it the more points you get. You can then redeem your points for items in the "store". The kids love this and they even allow adults to have accounts too. Better still, it's air conditioned so is a great place to stay cool! Find it in the Lacerte Family Children's Zoo area.
Also if your child is 11 or older they can become a Junior Zookeeper and volunteer at the zoo once a week during the summer. Dallas is one of the few zoos in the nation that allows kids this young to volunteer.

Great Children's Area
This zoo continues to improve. The children's area is great for small ones. They do seem to be trying to improve it as an all around good zoo. The tiger area is outstanding. Easy to jump on DART and be there without the hassle of driving.

Nice Place for Dallasites...
I enjoy going to the Dallas zoo. They've made some big improvements and it's helping. I actually prefer Ft. Worth's zoo, but it's a much longer drive. And speaking of driving to the Dallas zoodon't! Take the DART train because it pulls right up just outside the main gates. Plus, your kids will get two fun experiences in one day!

Always fun
We have been members for years. The kids always have tons of fun when we go. The newer additions are really nice. The older attractions are kind of sad. It is still a fun day.

We've been members for 12+ years.
Who doesnt love a zoo? Dallas Zoo gets better and better each year. The price is certainly right! Join as a member, and even the parking is free. The animals are always fun to watch, it is a great way to spend the day with the family. The little restaurant is good not great but come on, it's the Zoo! (not the Meyerson)

Members are also welcome several times a year to private gatherings! The summer camps are great, and the pony rides are just plain fun.

We had a great time
While it is not the best zoo my kids loved every bit of it. Sad to see that part of the zoo was older and more cage like then habitats. We bought the membership pass and were also given a list of other zoos around the US that we can visit with the pass as well. Over all we had a great time my kids loved it and will be back next month for my daughter birthday.

take the dart rail!
If you take the dart rail to the zoo you can get a discount off your admission and save a parking fee. The station is right across the street from the zoo. The new spongeboy stingray exhib was an extra fee but it was really a cool new additon this year!

Exciting Animals
Dallas seems far removed from any wildlife, but the Dallas Zoo brings us close to the animals. They have a great variety and good educational programs.
